Gameplay in Naruto: Naiteki Kensei is quite different from the usual games you used to play. It involves using free-form diverse movement, targetting, and three main systems of offense:

 

  • Weapons

  • Taijutsu (melee attacks)

  • Jutsu System (ninja techniques)

 

 

tick Basic Movement

Jumping, Double Jumping, Wall Jumping

Pressing the jump button (default "spacebar") allows you to jump. It is also possible to jump a second time by pressing jump key again (default "spacebar") while mid-air. Jumping along a wall allows you to wall jump.

Dashing

Double-tapping and holding Forward (default "w") will allow you to quickly move in that direction.

Dodging and Backflips

Double-tapping Left (default "a") or Right (default "d") will allow a quick evasive move in that direction. It is also possible to dodge while dashing by tapping Left or Right once during dashing. Double tapping and holding Back (default "s") will allow you to perform backflips. Looking down and performing the move for a backflip will allow you to do a quick evasive jump backwards.

 

tick Miscellaneous Movement

Blocking

The block key (default "q") allows players to block taijutsu and other attacks. Blocking will decrease the amount of damage done to the player. Some techniques, however, are unblockable.

Focus Chakra Mode

Activated by the Focus Chakra key (default "f"). Turning it on allows the player to walk on water and on walls. To walk on walls, the player must be facing the wall and must jump to it. Chakra and Stamina will not regenerate while activated.
 
 


 

tick Targeting

During Targetting (default "t") the player can loose lock-on to an enemy to focus attacks to them for a certain distance. Pressing Targetting, dying, using Kawarimi, using Kage Bunshin or Bunshin will remove the lock-on.

 

tick Weapons

Pressing the Weapons key (default "e") will execute the weapon selected. Scrolling between weapons (default "mousescroll") will be indicated in the HUD.

Kunai

Shoots one kunai accurately towards the opponent. (Max 15)

Shurikens

Shoots five shurikens in a shotgun-like manner. (Max 30)
 

Exploding Tags

Able to stick a tag on players and surfaces that will detonate as soon as somebody is close by. Using an Exploding tag will also drain from Kunai Tags. (Max 2)

Kunai Tags

An exploding tag attached to a kunai. It will explode upon impact. Using a Kunai Tag will drain also from Exploding Tags. (Max 2)

Smoke Bombs

Throwing one will conceal a certain area in smoke. (Max 2)

Weapons Pouch

When killing an enemy player, their weapons will drop from them. You can then pick it up by running over it.


 

tick Taijutsu

Taijutsu is probably the  most important aspect of the game. You'll find yourself using it quite a lot while playing and a good jutsu is worth nothing without a deadly Taijutsu combination!

 

Taijutsu has two important buttons: Combo button (default "LMB") and Knockback button (default "RMB").

The Combo button (default "LMB") can execute up to a string of 5 hits with the last hit ending in a slight knockback. To end the combo string early, you can release the Combo button premature of the maximum 5 hits. The Combo button can also be performed mid-air to execute air combos.

The Knockback button (default "RMB") has two different functions. While on the ground, pressing it will knock the player in the air, allow you to setup for an air combo, a weapon combo, or even a Jutsu combo. While in the air, using the button will hit the opponent backwards.
Jutsu System
 
The Jutsu system is activated by holding the Jutsu button (default "shift"). While holding the Jutsu button, the player can input Hand Seals through the buttons W,A,S,D. Inputting a correct seal combo while holding shift will execute a technique.

Kawarimi no Jutsu

Performing Kawarimi no Jutsu will replace your body with a wooden stump at the cost of a chakra drain, preventing any damage done to you. Holding Block (default "q") and Back (default "s") while taking damage will execute the move

Henge

Combo AW. Performing Henge will randomly change your player model to another player on the server. Your player will switch back upon any damage taken or executing any type of attack.

Naruto

Oiroke no Jutsu

Combo DW. Naruto transforms into a hot babe, shocking players around him within a certain radial distance, leaving them unable to move for a few seconds

Kage Bunshin no Jutsu

Combo WS. Naruto spawns 3 solid clones of himself, capable of attacking enemy players.

Rasengan

Combo DSW. Naruto spawns a clone that helps charge the attack. While during the attack, the player can only do very basic movement, while stamina doesn't regenerate and chakra continually drains. Connecting the attack sends the enemy flying away

Sasuke

Katon Housenka no Jutsu

Combo SDA. Sasuke shoots out three small fireballs that deal mediocre damage to the enemy.

Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu

Combo ADS. Sasuke shoots one large fireball covering a large area. Deals strong damage.

Chidori

Combo WSD. Sasuke charges up a devestating, piercing attack if connected. While during the attack, the player can only do very basic movement, while stamina doesn't regenerate and chakra continually drains. Connecting the attack will leave the opponent momentarily stunned.

Sakura

Bunshin no Jutsu

Combo SA. Sakura will create 2 fake clones of herself to confuse and dumbfound the enemy, that cannot do damage nor take any damage.

Shosen Jutsu

Combo WS. Sakura creates an area where she heals teammates and herself. Standing within the area health will regenerate.

Focus Power Punch

Combo DSW, Combo button (default "LMB"). Sakura draws in chakra to her hands and her legs. She then punches an opponent back with brutal strength.

Focus Power Kick

Combo DSW, Knockback button (default "RMB"). Sakura draws in chakra to her hands and her legs. When executed, Sakura goes straight down with a kick, creating a crater and making anyone on the ground within distance fall.

Kakashi

Kage Bunshin no Jutsu

Combo WS. Kakashi spawns 2 solid clones of himself, capable of attacking enemy players.

Rairiki

Combo WSD. Kakashi charges up a devestating, piercing attack if connected. While during the attack, the player can only do very basic movement, while stamina doesn't regenerate and chakra continually drains. Connecting the attack will leave the opponent momentarily stunned.

Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Ninken

Combo DW. Kakashi summons his ninja dog Pakkun. Pakkun then can attack an enemy, where ninja dogs will spawn and immobilize the enemy, while draining health.
